We are a commercial fine art gallery located in the downtown district of Oakland, California. We exhibit art that reflects the social and cultural diversity of the Bay Area and international artists. The aim of the gallery is to respect the creative pursuits of the individual and seek to make such works accessible to a broad audience.

Alfred White is a Painter, Director/Writer, Fashion Stylist and Actor. He is a native Californian, born in Berkeley, raised in Oakland, grew up in Los Angeles. Largely self-taught, Alfred has studied painting under the tutelage of figurative and abstract painter Michael Dee Cookingham. In 2010 and 2017 Alfred was a commissioned artist by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation’s annual fund raiser “Heroes and Hearts.” Alfred’s work has been shown at Joyce Gordon Gallery, ArtReach - UC in the Valley, UCOP, San Francisco General Hospital Foundation “Heroes and Hearts The Art of Living Black/The Art of the African Diaspora.

Now in its 27th year, Art of the African Diaspora (AOTAD) continues to express and celebrate the creative achievements of artists of African descent. This year, over 150 artists showcase their work at Richmond Art Center, as well as in open studios and satellite exhibitions at different venues around the Bay Area.

Joyce Gordon Gallery presents, "Accra Art: Borderless. A group exhibit of artists from Accra, Ghana.  Accra Art Week’s 2024 theme is Borderless.


Launched in 2019, the Accra Art Week is an annual week-long celebration of art and design taking place in the city of Accra, Ghana. With a primary mission to galvanize global engagement with West Africa’s creative sector, AAW curates a city-wide, immersive event series, featuring exhibitions+pop-ups, talks, performances, screenings, workshops and tours (of select galleries, studios, and cultural spaces). It’s existence is testament to Accra’s as a leading art destination in Africa.
